Happy Sunday, everyone! I have been reflecting lately on how many films, television shows, pieces of art, cinema and music are based on what the Intelligence agencies and military want us to think. Harken back to your first few memories and what films were popular during childhood. For me, I go back to Tom Cruise in Top Gun and Matt Damon in Saving Private Ryan. Perhaps you remember Irish heartthrob Colin Farrel in The Recruit? The common thread in all of these pieces is that the Pentagon and CIA wanted to make sure they portrayed them in a certain light. Access to their hardware, HQs and technical advisors hinged on the scripts of these movies saying certain things.
This should hardly come as a surprise to anyone, but I also feel its not something many think too deeply about when the theatre goes black, your hands become greasy with popcorn juice while the first trailers beam into your skull from the 100 foot screen. I don’t share this information to ruin your favorite show or movie, but simply to remind you of the amazingly powerful propaganda matrix that exists in America and around the world. I’m at the point where I recognize what I am watching but can also truly enjoy the product of such efforts. I will not lie that I was fucking straight up amped to see Tom Cruise fly high again in Top Gun: Maverick. The sequel to a massive pro military recruitment effort psy op that began the year I was born, 1986.
These leads me to recommend a fantastic series that I am currently deep into by the intrepid and brillant researcher, Derrick Broze, called “The Pyramid of Power.” I just finished his episode all about Hollywood and how The Pentagon & CIA have been involved in countless box office productions and TV series. I cannot encourage you enough to check it out and give it your consideration. Its excellent food for thought and a great internal speed bump for your mind when consuming such things. Enjoy your day and happy watching.
